R.C. Morgan

R. C. Morgan is one of the credit union movements most visionary leaders. During his four decades as chief executive officer of the Government Employees Credit Union in El Paso, Texas, the credit union grew from 135 members to 115,000. At the same time, Morgan served as big brother for many smaller credit unions in the area. A director of the Texas Credit Union League for more than 35 years, he served four terms as league chairman. An acknowledged futurist and strategist, he played a major leadership role in the evolution of the Credit Union National Association and its affiliates. He was a CUNA Director for more than three decades, serving three terms as chairman. He was also a director and chairman of CUNA International, predecessor of the World Council of Credit Unions. He helped found CUNA Service Group, Inc., and U.S. Central Credit Union, and served as a director and officer of both.
